Fodder Beet
Fresh from the field. Large fodder beets (mangelwurzel).
The beets are very popular with rabbits, guinea pigs, and horses.
A tasty variety for your pet:
They have a high protein and mineral content. Additionally, in whole or half form, they offer a good opportunity for enrichment for horses and rodents with healthy teeth. Dirt should definitely be wiped off the vegetable before feeding.
As the beets come fresh from the field, they may have soil clinging to them. This can be washed off before feeding. The beets are best stored unwashed.
For healthy, normal-weight horses, up to 10 kg of fodder beets (sugar beets max. 3 kg!) can be fed daily. In individual cases (e.g., for emaciation), higher quantities may also be fed.
